LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE DAZZLER

While horse racing might still be looking at how and where it can include that elusive butterfly known as “entertainment” into its product personality, some of us were listening to Darren Flindell’s call of the first race at Randwick.
His tip to win the race might not have won, but what caught the attention of us in Hong Kong was the entertainment value of his race call.
Those of us who have listened to his calls over the years know what to expect- someone who knows his audience and communicates with them with a good sense of humour and the ability to call a race that puts us in the middle of it all.
I guess it’s about being a storyteller- an entertaining one who brings something extra and unique and REAL to a game that too often takes itself rather seriously and with more than a soupçon of superficiality.
While waiting for that perfect marriage of horse racing and entertainment to happen, some with us mentioned taking someone some of The Dazzler’s most iconic calls- the calls featuring Democratic Manifest will definitely be included- and create a fun Dance Remix.
We may even create an accompanying dance called- what else- The Dazzler.
